Vessel Heat Systems

In order to recommend the ideal vessel heating system, a few things about your vessel and environment is needed as well as an engineering drawing.
The size of the vessel, for example, may have the dimensions of 20ft (6M) length and width. Some vessels like a hopper may have a throat. It is also useful to note what type of material the vessel is made out of (steel, plastic, etc) and if you plan on insulating it.
Is the vessel located indoors or outdoors? If outdoors, is it windy or does it get wet frequently? How cold does it get on a really cold day? The conditions around the vessel affect the amount of heat needed.

Controllers and Sensors

All applications that require heat must be controlled. There are two primary factors to look at when choosing your temperature controller and/or sensor.
(1)  How precise do you need the controller or sensor to be?:
(2)  Where will the controller or sensor be located?:
You will need to make sure that your controller or sensor can handle the outdoor or hazardous-area conditions if that is where it will be functioning.
One option is the The Centipede Module.  This is a tiny 2" (50.8mm) square and is located next to heater like a cloth heating jacket. Using a platinum RTD, this unit controls the temperature within +/- 1F (0.55C). The module stores temperature set-point, as well as low and high alarm settings. The dual-colored LED displays the status of your heating jacket.

Container Heaters

Drum and Pail Heaters are designed to provide practical, efficient means of freeze protection, viscosity control and maintenance of materials at elevated temperatures. A variety of standard sizes are combined with availability of custom designs to meet a variety of applications.
Standard (Economical 3" wide band with two layers of 15 mil silicone rubber), Heavy Duty (The original 4" wide band with two layers of 20 mil silicone rubber), and Extra Heavy Duty (Built to last with its 4" wide band with three layers of 20 mil silicone rubber) are the Classic Band Style for your standard sized drums.
For larger drums, you can purchase Maximum Protection for the Extreme Situation.  It is 8" wide band with two layers of 23 mil and two layers of 25 mil silicone rubber.

Self-Regulating Heating Cable

Most commonly used for freeze protection and low process temperature maintenance applications. It automatically adjusts heat output without the use of a thermostat. Can be overlapped and insulated without threat of burning out. Complete installation kits and insulation available. There are many options to choose from such as:
- 3, 5, 8, 10, 15 Watts per inch2
- 120 and 240V Models
- Cable that is Moisture, Chemical, and Radiation Resistant
